Mashed Potatoes
Simple, smooth and creamy mashed potatoes made with warm butter and milk.
Ingredients
- 2 lb baking potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup milk
- salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
Method
- Bring a pan of salted water to the boil. Add the potatoes and cook for about 15 minutes, until tender but still firm, then drain.
- In a small saucepan, heat the butter and milk over a low heat until the butter has melted.
- Using a potato masher or electric beaters, slowly blend the milk mixture into the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
