Sweetened Condensed Milk
Homemade condensed milk. Milk and sugar simmered down by half, finished with butter and vanilla.

Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk, or almond, cashew or oat milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar, or cane sugar, honey or maple syrup
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
- Whisk the milk and sweetener together in a medium saucepan over a medium-low heat and bring to a low simmer, whisking often.
- Keep simmering, whisking often, for about 30 minutes, until the milk has reduced by half.
- Take off the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla. Leave to cool completely.
Notes
- Store in a jar in the fridge for up to a week.
